Praise the Lord

for new beginnings. Looking over the past year I have learned a couple of things, I would say the most important is the *his* (God's) GRACE is sufficient. (period!) No matter our circumstances or the outcome of those circumstances, we need to FOCUS on Jesus even when we step out of the boat, even when there is a storm going on.

Back to new beginnings, a new day, a new year. Step back and evaluate 2009. What do you want to leave behind? What do you want to carry forward? Everyday is a new beginning, and make each one count.
So here we are, JB and Sharon on Christmas Eve. My daughter Sarah took this photo. She is a top-notch photographer, self trained.
Anyway have a Blessed New Year.

I'mmmmmm Back

It has been a stressful month, for others in my family. When family hurts we hurt. It has been difficult to say the least. Someone ask me last Sunday a week ago, how I was and I said, I try tho say no matter how I am, the Bible says, This is the day the Lord has made, so it doesn't much matter how I feel. And I have to believe that all things work together even when we don't see the entire picture and maybe we never will.

I hope all is well with you.

2Timothy 1:7 NKJV
For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but one of power and of LOVE and of a sound mind.

A Glorious Weekend

In Canaan Valley, WV, doing guess what? Golfing!! Yep, my husband and I went with two other couples and enjoyed the golfing and the beauty of nature. There were deer, ducks, chipmunk, raccoons. The fairways and the greens were beautiful. I will post pictures later.

FUN

Every year we go to Kings Dominion amusement park. This past weekend was it. Last year we took Samantha and Emilie, this year was Haley's turn. Notice I said was....we picked her up and she was crying, she wanted to go but was going to miss her family...her being with us has never resulted in crying. She said her tummy hurt, so we stopped to get her something to eat. We had only driven about 30 miles. She talked to her Mom and everything was good, then she started crying and said her tummy hurt, then she wailed and said it really.... really hurt. Decision time, we turned around and the wailing got louder and screeching about her tummy, I told her she was on her way to see her Mom and Dad, and Brother.....thinking this would help. It didn't. She threw-up.......her mom said she was miserable all day. Kings Dominion wasn't the same this year, we saw different rides and attractions, JB or I would say Haley would have liked this :(
Maybe next year.................
It was so hot there we left eaarlier than we normally would and we are still in a heat wave here at home. I am not a fan of hot weather that is for sure.

A good day for Golf and a Great God Day

Extremely warm on the golf course today, but great fun with the girls. That's a God day. Having fun with friends, spending time together, laughing at faux pas, learning from each other, girl talk, that's a God day.
I am thankful for my friends, some of these ladies are new friends, what fun to have a common thread to build our friendship on.
Actually, all friendships are built on a common thread or interest. It may be your love of movies, books, sewing, or even lunch dates. Friendships also move into seasons of your life, whether you are a new mom, a career minded women (or both), a grandparent, or an empty-nester with no grandchildren. There are so many areas of life that you can build relationships. Find someone or several people to share your life with. You will be glad you did. There is nothing better for me than to surround myself with good people.
Just go out and have yourself a God day.

My August 1st Memory Verse

Job 19:25 NLT

But as for me, I Know my Redeemer lives, and he will stand upon the earth at last.

Do you want to hear something interesting? I just learned this myself.

In ancient Israel a redeemer was a family member who bought a slaves way to freedom or as in (Ruth 3) who took care of a widow.

Let's remove the COLLAR

Before or in case there is any hoopla about the collar JB is wearing I am going to explain it simply.
He is licensed to perform marriage ceremonies, and other events, but this was to perform the marriage of Staci to Walter. The collar was for their benefit and those attending the wedding.

Collar or No Collar, we as Christ followers are all called to minister to all people.
Now about the picture, I just love this picture of JB and myself so there it is until I find one that I like better .

Blessings All.

Rain, I mean a Good Hard Rain

The veggies/herbs love it! It also makes for good sleeping weather. Clears the air. Not much going on but I thought I would drop in for a second.
I did golf yesterday and did well. It was very hot by the time we finished. My friend and I golfed with others the first 9 holes, then she and I finished the last nine.
I also had a meeting last night and fixed a meal for everyone.
Well, I will close for tonight.

Blessings to All!

My memory verse has been:

Psalm 68:19 NLT
Praise the Lord. Praise God our Savior; For each day he carries us in his arms.

I think I can now move on to another verse, I have three memorized. I am going to say the following out loud! I have noticed as I get I find it takes me longer to memorize now that I am older.

Saturday is a good day

The wedding, the stepdad who perfomed the ceremony, Sarah and Logan.

------------------------------------------------
Saturday is a good day
...........for golf. Just ask everyone who was at the course today. It was really busy and we were fortunate to get a cart, the last one available. Two weeks ago we had to leave and come back later due to the fact it was so busy.

I played fairly well today, and I feel really great physically afterwards. It did get hot today, about 91*.

I had two of the grandchildren this afternoon, then Haley had a sleepover to go to. Now I have Logan for the evening. He is a great little guy. Interesting, I never had little boys, and it is fun to see the differences in their actions and thought processes.

Z is for Zucchini

Wow! That stuff grows like wildfire! We didn't grow any but my daughter did and it is huge. Not only huge but she has a lot of it. If there is a way to prepare it she has. So, I found a zucchini bread recipe that sounds delish, and since you can freeze quick breads, I have put that on my to-do list.
It is early in the day, so I am sure as the day moves on I will have a bit more to say.
Blessings,

40 years....

No, I wasn't wandering in the desert....well, maybe I was part of the time, but the 40 years I am referring to is I just went to my 40 year class reunion. I mean Holy Smoke....my inward person thinks she is 18, well, maybe 36. How could it have been 40 years.....
I had a marvelous time, and yes you do go back in time. It was like a bunch of teenagers talking.
I really did recognize a lot of people, and the when I didn't the more you talked to each other a certain smile, a wave of the hand or other mannerism, and there they were 18 again.....
It was interesting to find out how many people have returned back to church, or were willing to talk about what they believe. We think some of it was they had seen my husbands picture in a ministers collar, and that opens up conversation. Probably getting a wee bit older brings people to reflection about their spiritual lives, i.e. destination.
I recommend everyone attend a class reunion or two, or three... I am looking forward to the next one.
Blessings.....

Golf

I am really liking this game of golf, well for today. You know how we are, when we do good at something we love it, and the the other side of the coin is when we do poorly, we feel we should just quit. Such is life... we should do the right thing even when we feel like we don't feel like it. Our actions shouldn't be determined by how we feel but what we know is truth.

May ---Wedding Cake

I baked the cake for my daughters wedding, and JB decorated it.
The flowers and ribbon are made from gum paste. I think he did a wonderful job.

Me and my BIG MOUTH

"I have resolved that my mouth will not sin." Psalm 17:3b NIV

"Set a guard over my mouth, O Lord; keep watch over the door of my lips." Psalm 141:3 NIV

Actually these are going to be memory verses, so I thought I would just put them out there.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I have taken up golf, and really I think I am doing quite well for a beginner. We went and hit some balls tonight which is fun to do. I didn't realize what great exercise golf is even when you rent a cart, you still do a bit of walking. You also develop a lot of upper body workout.
That's my day.
Blessings...................................................

Church

was a lot of fun this past Sunday. We adults put on our kid hats and the whole service was led by the Promise Land leaders. So much fun, and I still remember the memory verse!

James 4:17
Remember, It is sin to know what you ought to do, and then not do it....NLT

To be pleasing to God should be our objective. Just think of the missed blessings we could have if we acted on what we know is right.

I hope everyone has a wonderful Wednesday!

Blessings..................

Here it is!

July 10th, and this is the first time I have blogged since the first of the year. I really want to be committed to blogging. I have never been one to journal or take notes, so I am a work in progress.

I just love this scripture.

Proverbs 7:4 Say to Wisdom, you are my sister and call understanding your intimate friend.

Is that the coolest?

Blessings

Let Me tell You

About our New Years Eve. We had a band from Damascus Road Community Church that used the auditorium at our church Monocacy Valley Church. The name of the band is Holy Rain.It was a blessing beyond words. Being in the presence of the Lord was evident in this setting, and the move of the Holy Spirit was felt by many in attendance. Praise the Lord for all things. We started at around 7ish, and it went until around 10:30 pm.
Then JB, Samantha, Emilie, and I came home and Grandma Betty came upstairs and we all saw the New Year in. To top it off we, Wii'ed until 1:30a.m. this morning. It has been a really long time since I have seen 1 a.m.
Our New Years dinner was going to be pork, potatoes, sauerkraut, but I forgot to put the pork in the slow cooker, and we decided on homemade pizza. Yummy, I have just about perfected the crust, and JB does the rest. Sometimes we use our home grown tomatoes that I have made sauce from other times store bought.
I pray that all of you are Blessed through this New Year, and that you see the move of God in your life.
Hugs!
