K is for

Knight! My knight in shining armor. No he didn't rescue me from anything ( other than myself), he wasn't on a white horse, and he didn't wear armor. He is the love of my life. I have known JB for almost 35 years, we were the best of friends for many years, and I may have said this before, I am not one to believe in *soulmates* but I will say that I believe he is mine. I love him more than words could ever express. I wrote this for JB and I feel the same way about him everyday.
My Husband, My Friend

My Friend
I’ve always found in you a friend with whom I could be myself.
Telling you my secrets, laughing with you, listening to your philosophy on life, love, and relationships.
I found that I could always be open and honest, never having to guard my thoughts or feelings.
We’ve talked about the struggles with our kids, our loves, and our lives.
We have been the best of friends, even though distance and months separated us.
We played, we laughed, and we loved.
I have always smiled when I heard your voice, whether
We were miles apart or sitting next to each other,
You brightened my day, lightened my heart.
I found joy in your friendship,
I valued your wisdom and respected your opinions.
I took your advice.
When you were gone from my life.
There was a void, a vacuum, only a friend would fill.
There was an emptiness, even though I’d ask about you, and
Would get an update, a little information,
I needed to hear your voice.

My Husband
Now that we are together I have found our friendship to have a new dimension.
I am inspired to be the best me I can be.
You have helped me develop talents and skills I didn’t even know I had.
You have given me a creative voice, the ability to shine.
You talk with me, not at me. You allow my opinions to be valid.
I value your wisdom, I seek your advice, and I respect your opinions.
I love in a way that I never thought possible. I glow with happiness, and contentment at the mention of your name.
The void is filled. I hear your voice and am joyous.
I love coming home; I love you coming home.
I like the person I am and I like the person you are. We play, we laugh, and we love. I like who we are, individually and together.
My life is full and it is complete with you.

I Love You,
Sharon

I is for

Impossible. I tend to lean toward negative thinking, and this is something I am really working on, I decided to use the word impossible. More as a word to ponder. Not a word I want to have in my vocabulary.
Impossible is a limiting word. Wouldn't you agree? Nothing is impossible. Everything is doable with the right information and the right attitude. Succeeding at something doesn't always mean you have accomplished it, it means you have tried, you put your best foot forward, you have not limited yourself by shying away from something you thought was impossible.
So what have you done that you thought was impossible?

H is for

Hoopla! Yep hoopla.

hoop·la noun
Definition:

1. misleading talk: intentionally misleading talk or propaganda ( informal )
2. loud celebration: a noisy excited commotion or joyous celebrating ( slang )
3. great public uproar: a great amount of public fuss, commotion, or uproar with attendant publicity or media interest ( slang )

You all know this word, it's the stuff that goes on at work, and you just think GROW-UP!
Truth of the matter it really isn't affecting me personally, it is just going on and most of us are bystanders, watching it.

This is the other word I would have used but it didn't start with a H. :)

brouhaha

brou·ha·ha (plural brou·ha·has)
noun
Definition:

1. outcry: public criticism or protest
2. noisy commotion: a noisy commotion or uproar ( informal )

G is for

Growing! Aren't we always growing? Well, I mean in the emotional, spiritual sense of the word. I am trying not to grow physically, unless it was up. Like maybe 5'5" and then I would be the right weight. Well, back to growing. Isn't that what life is all about? Learning life lessons is what we use to grow as a person. It could be a bad experience that teaches us what NOT to do again. Or it could teach us how to treat our fellow man/woman so they won't experience the same pain.
A joyous experience that we could use to add something special to someones life. All experiences can teach us compassion, thoughtfulness, kindness, empathy, etc. Part of the growing experience to be a better person tomorrow than what we were today.

F is for

Friends! My best friend my forever friend is Babs. I have known her since I barely 18. I met her in July 1970. We became instant friends the day I met her. We married cousins to whom neither of us are now married, but that is how we met. I love her, she loves me. We know each others dirty laundry, and can see each others warts but we are the best of friends. We are the thick and thin kind of friends, we have seen it all and been through everything with each other.
We were so different she was a business professional, and I became a stay at home Mom. I wanted to always be like her and funny she wanted to be like me. My life has grown so much because she has been in it and I could never imagine my life without her.
My other best friend is my husband JB. I love him. I truly am not one to pin the word soul-mate on someone, but I do believe he is mine. He and I have known each other 33 yrs. He was my best guy friend. I met him when I was married to the above cousin of Babs husband (small world). We were all friends, had fun together. I could always get a guys opinion on stuff from JB. In fact when I would come back to Maryland the girls would have a PJ party and he was invited.
4-6 women and JB. We liked his perspective on stuff. I will say now that we are married, I tell him everything anyway but it does change the guy perspective, because now he has a husband perspective. When you are married you affect each others daily lives. I could not imagine my life without him.
My daughters are also my friends, I love each one of them as daughters, but as young women. Each one of them is so different, and the different qualities. It is their uniqueness that helps us to be friends. I can't imagine my life without them!
I have rambled on, but tell me about your Best Friend!

Event...Special event! What event do you have coming up in your life. A wedding, a sporting event, a baby shower, a baptism, a vacation, a girls night, a boys night, a sleepover, a birthday. Celebrate life make every day an event!
Today was a long day of shopping, no not that kind of shopping, it was grocery shopping. I firsst went to Sams and spent a small fortune, but the good news is that stuff spreads out over a month, then I went to Super Fresh and bought the rest of the groceries. I guess I could classify that as an event! I was one busy person today.

D is for

D is for decision. We make lots of decisions in our lives that not only affect us but the people around us. We should put alot of thought and prayer into the decisions we make. We need to think through the possible outcome of our decisions. Will someone be hurt by what we decide to do? Will my decision have a positive affect on my life? Will it affect the people around me in a positive manner? Coworkers, family, friends?

C is for

Children! We had the grandchildren for 4 days. Samantha and Emilie that is. What a blast. More of a blast for JB and the kids. (I still have this need to be the adult.) He does the being a kid so much better than I. Anyway I did the Granny thing, I took them school shopping. I had already bought Haley a couple of things. (She lives closer so our goal for her is to have her here one day a week, for dinner and to visit after school. It gets her away from her brother, Logan. The last time she was here JB ask her what she was doing, she said she was practicing to become a PRINCESS!
Back to the girls, I took them school shopping for some clothes, just girl time, then JB and the girls got out the Easy Bake oven and baked a cake and cookies. He is a wonderful Grandfather. So, my word for the day is children. If you want to have fun hang out with a kid, they are honest and real, and funny!

B is for

B is for Beauty. Lets see. Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder. Beauty and the Beast. Beauty is as beauty does. Beauty is only skin deep. Big and Beautiful. Is it how one looks? Is it the color of there skin or their eyes, their body size, or shape? Or, does beauty truly come from within? Is it compassion, love, understanding, kindness, thoughtfulness, giving of self.
How do you define beauty?

A is for....

A is for apology. Isn't that a tough thing for many of us to do? I know that I have struggled with this even just recently. I won't go into details of the situation, but I woke up thinking about the situation, every time I turned the TV on, had a quiet moment, whenever, the situation was right there staring at me (nope wasn't with the DH), so I decided to send a note and apologize. I didn't apologize for the disagreement, but for the unkind words I said, and I ask that in time this person may forgive me. I know that forgiveness is a choice, but so is the act of asking for forgiveness.... So my challenge to you is ask for forgiveness when you have offended someone, make that your choice!

The Man I Love

It's Sunday

I haven't blogged in like forever, I have another place that I try to maintain , but decided today to try and put this blog at the top of my to-do list.
Anyone who reads this blog probably knows that we started a small group from our church that meets at our house every other Friday.
We decided after my husband read The Pilgrims Progress by John Bunyun to use this as our guide. We also wanted to name the group something that would reflect who we are as believers.
We named the group Romans8:37.
I really know that God has his hand on this group even when I fret, and think it didn't go as well as I ( thats the key word) thought. This has to this point been a wonderful experience. Developing relationships (point of small group) and knowing we all are walking the journey the Pilgrim is taking.
Isn't it great to know that God sees us through Christ. He doesn't see our human(ness) and does not judge us the way we judge ourselves. We carry guilt and condemnation and through Christ it is forgiven and forgotten.
Blessings to All,
Sharon

Haley, Jere, Logan and Sarah

Staci, and Walter

Sharon And JB
Read my Bible through in a year.
Get healthy through diet and exercise and bring my blood sugar down to a reasonable number.
Get my house in order.
I want to start a journal (hard copy) I plan on making a 365 thing I love about you for my husband nest Christmas and they will come from the journal.
Those are my top priorities.
We are starting a small group (church related) in our home in February. We are starting the group as a book club starting with The Pilgrims Progress by John Bunyan. It is edited and modernized by Hal M. Helms. I have not read the book but my husband has, I am looking forward to this endeavor.
